Liquigas and Pellizotti take on the Brixia Tour

Team Liquigas will also be competing in the classic end of July race around the roads of Brescia. The 2008 Brixia Tour kicks off on Wednesday, 23rd July, with two half stages: a road race in the morning from Rottofreno to Orzinuovi, and a spectacular team time trial through Brescia city centre that starts at 9.00 p.m. The tour ends with a stage for the sprinters in Darfo Boario, where Liquigas sprinter Francesco Chicchi won the event in 2007.
Franco Pellizotti will be Liquigas’ guiding light: the Brixia Tour will help him to assess his fitness in the lead-up to the Beijing Olympic Games. As Claudio Corioni will be racing on home territory, he knows the roads better than anyone else so he’ll be trying to produce a strong performance to salvage what has been an unlucky season up until now. Under the guidance of the DS Mario Chiesa, Michael Albasini, Mauro Da Dalto, Enrico Franzoi, Vladimir Miholjevic, Andrea Noè and Gorazd Stangelj will be completing the Liquigas line-up.
