Liquigas-Doimo is going to present itself at the departure of 64th Vuelta a España, in Drenthe, with the same ambition that characterized Giro d’Italia and Tour de France. «We like to face the most important engagements of the season at the top of our capabilities, as an international team have to do – affirms team manager Roberto Amadio -. In Giro and Tour we fight in front line to conquer both stages both leading placements in general ranking. This philosophy brought us many satisfactions. We want to face the Vuelta with the same conviction: we choose to present riders like Basso, Bennati, Kreuziger and Quinziato to testify this».

So, the wish to shine on an international and blazoned stage as the Vuelta is present. Ivan Basso, Daniele Bennati, Roman Kreuziger, Manuel Quinziato. Then Maciej Bodnar, Kjell Carlström, Fabio Sabatini, Sylwester Szmyd and Oliver Zaugg. These are the nine riders selected by directeur sportif Stefano Zanatta and Mario Scirea to change words in facts.

«The line-up is assorted and well balanced – explains Zanatta – and allow us to think to general ranking and single victory. First week is good for sprinters and so for Bennati. He will have the support of Quinziato, Sabatini and Bodnar, a precious help in the last kilometres of the flat stages. From second week the route will begin to go up and the bagarre for general ranking will start. Basso faced a training period that allow him to cherish the dream to win it. The Giro was the first important engagement after his return, now Ivan has the chance to continue along this way. The help of Szmyd, Carlström and Zaugg will be capital, like the support of Kreuziger. At the Tour, Roman showed a good condition. In Spain he will find a useful ground to grow again, helping Ivan and searching an exploit: the ideal work to refine the leg in view of Mendrisio World Championship».
