MILRAM's Björn Schröder once again proved the team's good performance in the second stage of the Internationalen Bayern Rundfahrt (UCI 2.HC).  After 219 km, the 27 year old Berliner sprinted to a third place finish in Neusäß, the home of his teammate Sebastian Schwager.  The victory went to Olaf Pollack of Team Volksbank, who beat first-stage winner Gerald Ciolek (High Road).

„I was incredibly happy that I could thank my team today with a good result,“ said MILRAM's Björn Schröder.  „It was an extremely hectic sprint.  Artur Gajek brought me well into position, then I oriented myself on Gerald Ciolek's rear wheel.  It is great, after my problems yesterday, to have found the right answer.“

„It was a really great stage for me today,“ said MILRAM's Sebastian Schwager in his hometown of Neusäß.  „I got into the first escape group.  We got away with five riders, but those behind us didn't like it and we were caught again quickly.  Up until the finale we held ourselves back a bit.  Christian Knees attacked on the last round, but was unfortunately also caught.  It was really something special for me.  The mood along the way was super and it was very lively.  Really a great experience, to sprint across the finish line 400 meters away from my house door.“

MILRAM's local rider Sebastian Schwager was warmly greeted in his hometown.  But the MILRAM rider didn't have much time to devote to the estimate 90,000 along the way.  Especially in the finale, he and his teammates were busy catching the three escapees of the day.  After 28 km, Stefan Ganser (Kuota-Senges),  Frank Scherzinger (3c-Gruppe) and Karsten Hess (Thüringer Energie) got away from the field.  They built up a lead of up to 10 minutes before the peloton reacted, took up the chase and set up the mass sprint.
